THE INSTITUTE OF TRICHOLOGISTS’ MEMBERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR AND GRADUATION CEREMONY. - NOVEMBER 2007

The Institute held their annual seminar in Central London, at the Wella London World Studio, in November of 2007.

The attendance rate of delegates was very much higher than normal, which was a sign of the enthusiasm which our members have for keeping fully up dated.

There was a very full program with four specialist speakers and a graduation ceremony of all those students who had passed their first or final year examinations. The students were accompanied by family and/or friends. At mid day, the AGM was also held for Members only.

Professor Desmond Tobin becomes Vice President

Desmond Tobin

The Institute is delighted to announce that Professor Desmond Tobin BSc. PhD FRCPath., FIBiol, FIT has agreed to honour us by becoming The Vice President.

Professor Tobin has an enormous amount of hair research to his credit in particular in cutaneous biology. This work involves the hair follicle which is unique in its biological make up. He also has an extraordinarily long list of writing on biological science subjects.

Professor Tobin has edited a book- Hair in Toxicology – an important bio-monitor which is fascinating reading.

He has also co- edited along with Lars Mecklenburg & Monika Linek “ Hair loss in Domestic Animals” which has yet to be published.
His history in hair related research, is far too vast to list here. It can only be stated that we are indeed very fortunate to have him as Vice President of our Institute.
